Is a slim, slot loading, Blu-Ray drive even manufactured? I've seen a few tray loading externals and a tray loading internal, but not a slot loading Blu-Ray drive of any type.Slot Load Blu-ray Drive Exists • Sony Sells Blu-ray VAIOsSony already sells a 1920x1200 VAIO AR Blu-ray Disc™ enabled Notebook PC Model Number VGN-AR290G (http://b2b.sony.com/Solutions/product/VGN-AR290G) for only $3499.99. :D It has a Blu-ray burner too.

Read your OP. I'm on an iPhone right now.
Frak it. I have skilz:
Yeah, what's wrong with it?
Hero has 2 HP and 1 AP.
And the monster has 1 HP and 1 AP.
And they fight. Monster inflicts 1 point of damage to the hero because it has 1 AP. The hero's HP goes down to 1 HP, right?
And the hero inflicts 1 damage because he only has 1 AP. But the monster only has 1 HP. Result? Dead monster.
If your issue is that this scenario is technically impossible (since in the game it's impossible to have more HP than AP), you're right. But it's only an illustration to how the battle system works.

While I am excited I'm still not convienced we can conquer the bandwidth issues for higher resolution sources. What I would really like to see (yes I'm dreaming, copywrite, etc) is iTunes to let me do what I do for music with my movies. I realize you can do this today, but lets make it built in and easy. I put a DVD in and iTunes asks me if I want to "rip" it into my video library. The fattest download pipe is when I buy a DVD off the shelf and take it home.
At 15$ a pop I'd rather have a physical DVD. I'm one of the odd ones that was/is hoping for rental subscriptions. I would like the same model as netflix except with the downloads. I pay a monthly fee and can download and watch x movies at the same time. The beauty over netflix there is if I want to watch a movie, I can have it relatively faster then waiting for it to ship.
Finally I of course want a real video ipod. Even if the content isn't all available yet from iTunes, I can make my own and will have the new hardware form factor. One year and holding I am waiting to upgrade my old 3G ipod with dying battery.

I see this being used as the interface remote for iTV. As a full-blown PDA device, no.
I think this is likely, too, though I'm sure it would have additional functionality that has yet been discussed.

I meant Geforce GO7800, a mistake on my part.
I did some more poking around, and apparently, a Go 7900 model (90nm) that has a TDP rated at around 10% more than the rated TDP of the X1600.
That might be possible. Based on that the Go 7700 80nm should easily consume less power than the current X1600, and given the base 7600 was faster than the X1600, the 7700 (based on the 7600GS) should offer significant speedup for 3D.
It'll be interesting to see if Apple favors Intel with the AMD-ATI merger/buyout, too.
Finally, there's always the (rather unlikely, admittedly) possibility that the MBPs (perhaps just the 17"?) would offer MXM slots; currently, MXM means nVidia.

Dear Apple
PLEASE can we have a UI update, even if it's a minor one (for instance, iTunes 10 scrollbars rather than the blue aqua ones). Just some extra polish really.

The blue scrollbars look like the blue glow on the warp nacelles of NCC-1701D.
I like them.

I must say that mobileme is essential for me. Laptop, desktop, media centre mini, iphone and one day an ipad- i need a way of syncing contacts/ email/ calendars/ documents and settings that no one else offers so easily.
I do not like google as a company. I simply don't trust them and don't like their business model.
Both back to my mac and the iphone locator have beed precious tools for me.
there is a lot there but I think they could upgrade the service for us.

Just to add a little fuel to the fire - I found this on MacSurfer - likely another source, sounded a little different. The plot thickens...

the news say intel has already made small shipment last month enough for product launches, .. in september.. apple will expect large shipment.
so this means launching at wwdc, available in september
if this is true, then looks like i might be stuck with a 32-bit Macbook :o unless i can make myself wait........nah

They only need like ~100,000.
Hummm... maybe Motorola has some spare Xoom screens they could share with RIM? Oh... the size thing.... Hummm...
The Tab! There should be about 1 million+ channel returns coming back on the TAB 1.0... Samsung may have some stock that RIM could work with? A little glue and tape and there you go! :p

I'm not convinced that my kids are any worse off. I grew up speaking two languages (hearing three) and using different types of measurements. I have confidence in my future children to be able to handle it like generations of Americans have before.
A child's mind is amazingly attuned to learning language. Given the fascinating cultural and linguistic diversity in the world, I am envious. I would love to have learnt more than one language as a kid. It's so much harder to learn as an adult.
But I am not at all envious of you having to learn two systems of measurement. That kind of cultural diversity I can do without! Sure, your kids will be able to handle it, but why should they have to? Because your generation was too stuck in its ways to embrace positive change?

sure we do. Developer Tools for example. also there are more 64 bit 3rd party apps out there, that I dont feel like looking up right now.
however, your right, consumer apps are primarily 32 bit, and os x apps like ical, mail etc, wont go 64 bit until leopard.
yeah, but we don't know if Leopard will be totally 64-bit anyways (we'll find out soon enough)

2.16 and 2.33 Merom options
Magnetic latch
MacBook style keyboard
New video card (Nvidia?)
160GB hard drive option
I agree with everything, except for the keyboard. If they put in a MB style keyboard I will go with a Rev A (or Thinkpad) for sure, no matter what else they do with the MBP. Neccessities aside, there's nothing I use more on my laptop than the keyboard, and even though I find the MB keyboard all right for touch typing, I don't find it acceptable for my constant use.

Only for a year. Fill up that 20 Gigs and a year later you can either empty it down to the free 5, or pony up.
This thing will be sued to hell and back before the year is up, so it won't make a difference. :)

The iBook never went under $999.
I said sub-$1000. $999 is sub-$1000. ;) The iMac started out at $1300, and dropped to $800 at one point. Stuff it getting cheaper. I don't know when a cheaper laptop will be coming out, but I'll bet one is.

Just because you got this raving review today doesn't mean you have to rub it in all of our faces. :p

Looks like a specs upgrade to me. Ill most likely skip this and buy the next revision. :)
If this rumor is true and there is only going to be a spec bump, then I think a lot of people will feel this way and Apple knows this! Therefore, I think they will put some "gotta have" feature in iOS5 that will only be compatible with the new iPhone 5. Something like.......(your guess here).
3D maybe?
